Essential Fatty Acids

Dogs that are suffering from kidney disease have received help from omega-3 fatty acids. There are many good sources of the omega oils of which flax oil, raw meat, fish oils, and seafoods are used mostly. Processing these foods however, creates a problem because they are easily destroyed and oxidized. Therefore the use of these in this state could cause free radical damage and it could end up doing more harm than good. There is nothing beneficial for the kidneys about using oxidized omega fatty acids. In this case it would be better to utilize a quality omega supplement for use in kidney disease situations. The oils in the supplements will have been stabilized with preservatives like vitamin E.
