The Beneficial Chemicals Found In Fruits And Veggies

Published on July 7, 2008 by in BARF

Raw fruits and veggies provide us with necessary calories, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins and the life giving, energizing enzymes. In fact they provide us with the best sources of enzymes. This is because any plant needs enzymes to live just like we need them and our dogs need them. Unfortunately these enzymes are lost when food is cooked.

Researchers have known for a long time that high intakes of fruits and veggies have shown a decrease in a number of diseases including coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and several forms of cancer. It was discovered that a low intake of fruits and veggies had about twice the risk of cancer compared with a high intake. So we can say that fruits and veggies are life giving factors for sure. This is another reason why we include fruits and veggies in all our formulations.
