BARF Diet and Styrofoam Coolers

Published on October 3, 2007 by in BARF

Today I heard that one of our mail order customers loved our product but may discontinue purchasing from us because of the styrofoam coolers that we use for shipping our Barf Diet patties.  Styrofoam is not environmentally friendly.  I agree with her whole heartedly.  The problem is that we haven’t found a solution to replace the styrofoam and still be able to deliver a frozen product.  We too, want to find the solution and we continue to seek alternative  solutions.  After hearing of the problem I elected to do a quick search and found that their is a company IFS (International Foam Solutions, Inc.) that has developed a system that is safe, efficient, economical and practical recycling of polystyrene waste.  Can  this help our mail order customers?  We will have to check with IFS to get further feed back and see if this might be a step in the right direction.  In the mean time we continue to search.

We are open to any viable solutions.

(I do hope she continues to feed a raw diet regardless of origin).
